lpr360 case study
Measuring training ROI for managers
Challenge
A large educational institution needed to improve the leadership skills of its senior managers. They were looking for a program that would introduce the value of constructive feedback into a culture which avoided it almost entirely – and offer a measurable return on investment.
Solution
lpr360, which can be used in conjunction with any learning or training program, was combined with an intensive, week-long Grid Leadership Seminar.
To ensure measurable ROI, the customized lpr360 survey was conducted a month before the seminar, six months after the seminar, and then again a year after the seminar, and the findings were compared in an easy-to-read report.
The leadership seminar was largely based on experiential team activities with a considerable amount of feedback. This feedback, coupled with the lpr360 feedback from the workplace, provided the senior managers with a powerful, constructive source of information about their leadership abilities.
Several weeks after the leadership seminar, an executive coach conducted individual sessions with each participant to help them interpret their lpr360 feedback results and integrate them with leadership seminar feedback and learning.
Results
With strong feedback accompanied by expert guidance from the lprCoach program, all of the participants got a better idea about their leadership skills and their key areas for improvement. Each participant was on his or her way to developing a personal action plan and improving overall leadership skills and managerial effectiveness.
Anonymity means greater honesty
The lpr360 process provides a safe environment for assessors to provide their candid feedback anonymously. Properly handled and encouraged, that candour could eventually promote face-to-face discussion and ultimately eliminate the need for anonymous feedback.
