Coaching translates feedback into action

Challenge
The management of a small organization with 25 employees needed an effective program that would enable their people to learn more about themselves and to make changes to counter-productive behaviors. However, because of the company’s small size, and the fact that many of the people had been with the company for years, senior managers were concerned that familiarity – and complacency – would keep people from giving candid feedback and “rocking the boat.”

Solution
A professional coach was hired to conduct one-on-one sessions with all 25 employees. Using the lprCoach process, the coach interviewed several people to gain a sense of the issues confronting the organization, then developed a set of 10 unique questions that were added to the standard set of questions used in the customizable lpr360 feedback process.

Once the lpr360 process was completed, each participant was given a comprehensive report. Over three or four individual sessions, the coach helped each person understand their feedback report. Using the lpr360 analysis and workbook, the coach helped them map out a plan for change in the areas that were highlighted as important to their growth and development.

Results
In a follow-up feedback program one year later, the company used the lprCoach process to show each person what progress they had made. Using a report that compared the two sets of feedback, management was able to chart the personal and professional progress of each individual.
